Against the backdrop of disasters such as the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, IFRC Disaster law undertakes research on the laws and policies governing international disaster response and disaster risk reduction in China. Several reports on disaster law frameworks at the national level and in the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong have been completed. The Red Cross Society of China is also undertaking research on other key disaster law themes, supported by IFRC Disaster Law, including a review of International Disaster Response Law in China.
