Working with Sri Lanka Red Cross Society, IFRC Disaster Law provides advice on disaster law issues and advocates for the development and strengthening of inclusive disaster risk management legislation. We have conducted research on disaster law in Sri Lanka, including on Legal Issues from the International Response to the Tsunami in Sri Lanka. We have also commissioned research on the COVID-19 pandemic in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka was one of the countries included in a study of legal preparedness for regional and international disaster and pandemic response in South Asia.
