IFRC Disaster Law and the Indonesian Red Cross Society have supported the revision of national disaster laws in Indonesia, including the National Disaster Response Framework. The Framework includes specific roles for the Indonesian Red Cross Society and IFRC, as national and international partners to government.
IFRC Disaster Law has published significant research on disaster law in Indonesia, including a report on International Disaster Response Law (IDRL) in Indonesia and a case study on Strengthening Law and Disaster Risk Reduction in Indonesia. We have also conducted research on the implementation of AADMER (the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response) through Indonesia's domestic laws and policies and commissioned research on the COVID-19 pandemic.
