In Fiji, our work to address disaster and climate risks covers three distinct areas. We are strengthening integrated adaptation and risk reduction, supporting low-carbon development, and improving disaster preparedness, response and recovery.
IFRC Disaster Law also supports the auxiliary role of
IFRC Disaster Law has conducted significant research on disaster law in Fiji. Most recently, Fiji was one of 16 countries included in a study of legal preparedness for regional and international disaster assistance in the Pacific. It was also one of the countries analysed in Law, Disasters and Public Health Emergencies in the Pacific, which looks at the intersection of public health emergencies and disaster risk management systems in the Pacific, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
