The Philippine Red Cross and IFRC Disaster Law support government across a range of disaster law initiatives, seeking to better protect the communities and individuals most vulnerable to disasters. Our work in the Philippines has influenced changes and developments in national law. The Philippine Red Cross has also held disaster law trainings of facilitators for its local branches.
IFRC Disaster Law has published significant research on disaster law in the Philippines, including research focusing on the domestic implementation of the AADMER Agreement, the protection of children in disasters, and the integration of climate and disaster risk governance. We also published a case study on strengthening climate resilience through law and policy in the Philippines.
