Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is one of the most vulnerable countries to disasters in the Eastern Caribbean, facing hurricanes, flooding, landslides, drought, earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions. In 2017, IFRC Disaster Law and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Red Cross Society produced a Desk Review on Legal Preparedness for International Disaster Response. The Desk Review involved an assessment of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines' laws, policies and plans against the recommendations provided by the International Disaster Response Law (IDRL) Guidelines. It provided detailed recommendations about how the legal and policy framework relating to international disaster assistance could be strengthened in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
