Trinidad and Tobago

In July 2020, IFRC Disaster Law, together with Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross Society, began collaborating with the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management and other key stakeholders to review Trinidad and Tobago’s legal and policy framework for disaster risk management. The collaboration aims to develop a draft bill on comprehensive disaster risk management that is consistent with IFRC Disaster Law’s recommendations, including the Disaster Risk Reduction Checklist, the Preparedness and Response Checklist, and the International Disaster Response Law (IDRL) Checklist. A technical committee has been established and meets regularly to facilitate this ongoing legislative review process.
