Kazakhstan

In Kazakhstan, IFRC Disaster Law is supporting the review of the current disaster law framework. The emphasis is on the promotion of the Kazakhstan Red Crescent's auxiliary role and advising on climate-smart elements to be incorporated into the disaster preparedness and response regulatory framework. IFRC Disaster Law is also piloting localised legislative advocacy training in Kazakhstan, using IFRC Disaster Law's Legislative Advocacy Toolkit. IRFC Disaster Law works closely with relevant Central Asian regional institutions such as the Centre for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction (CESDRR). A report on International Disaster Response Law (IDRL) in Kazakhstan was published in 2013.
