The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in collaboration with the Institute of Law, Emergencies and Disasters (LEAD), Sphere India, the NAPSIPAG Disaster Research Group (NDRG) and the Institute of Social Sciences are hosting a conference addressing the urgent need for better coordination and cooperation in disaster risk reduction and disaster preparedness and response.

This conference will explore the integral role of disaster law in preventing climate change and disasters, the unique challenges faced by Small Island Developing States and the relationship between Disaster Law and International Humanitarian Law.

The Conference on the Role of Disaster Law in Mitigating Disasters and Strengthening Climate Resilience will be held on 29-30 November in Bangkok, Thailand and online. There will be a host of dynamic speakers from governments, academic institutions, regional and international organisations from across the Asia Pacific region covering a broad range of topics.
