Niger

In 2021, a desktop mapping of Niger’s legal framework applicable to international disaster response was conducted, using the Checklist on the Facilitation and Regulation of International Disaster Relief and Initial Recovery Assistance (the IDRL Checklist). This activity formed part of a larger exercise to map the IDRL frameworks countries in the region, to identify and analyse the legal and policy arrangements for international disaster response. This was following by a mapping of the legal and policy arrangements for DRM across the country more broadly, which forms part of an ongoing research initiative of IFRC Disaster Law to map the DRM legal and policy frameworks of countries across Africa.
