In 2012, IFRC Disaster Law provided comments on the Rwanda Disaster Management Bill. IFRC Disaster Law's comments, which focused on legal preparedness for international assistance, resulted in the incorporation of significant parts of the Model Act on the Facilitation and Regulation of International Disaster Relief and Initial Recovery into the Bill. The Rwandan Senate adopted the Disaster Management Bill in February 2015 and, after approval from Cabinet, the Act was gazetted in 2016.
